Our Mission
Playpod is the premier podcasting app designed specifically for the school and family community. With Playpod, students, teachers, and other educational professionals can create engaging entertainment or academic review content, sharing it with peers, schools, and families.
Through Playpod, our mission is to give youth a voice, empowering them to become active agents in their own learning. We provide a safe, digital environment that is fully adapted and supervised by their trusted educators. Our goal is simple: to bring the incredible educational benefits of podcasting to the classroom.
We also envision Playpod as a central hub for the entire educational community, a place to connect, foster global inter-school collaboration, support one another, and lead the conversation around education, school life, and family.
Our Story
Playpod wasn’t born in a boardroom, but in the classroom. We are a couple of teachers and parents (from Spain and the US) who actually met while teaching. We both started our careers right in the classroom and, gradually, ventured into the world of educational technology to learn how to build the tools we always wished we had..
Like many of you, we juggle full-time and part-time jobs in education, the beautiful chaos of parenting, and building projects like this platform. It has been fostered and created between recess duties, coffee breaks in the teachers’ lounge, sleepless parenting nights, and deep conversations with other passionate educators.
When we set out to build Playpod, we didn’t do it alone. Trusted professional colleagues helped along the way, and even some of our former students who have since taken a path in software development! Many of you also helped with your wonderful ideas.
